SPRAY TAN PREP

Stop using retinol and Dove products.
Retinol is powerful enough to strip your spray tan - even days after you’ve applied it!Schedule all other beauty services to take place before your spray tan.

Your spray tan should always be the final step!

Take a prep shower to get your skin ready for your spray tan.
Shave and exfoliate thoroughly.
Avoid using loofahs, washcloths, or sugar scrubs—they do not exfoliate effectively.
For best results, use our exfoliating mitt (link mitt).
Proper exfoliation helps your spray tan last longer.
Skipping this step increases the likelihood of a faster-fading tan.

You'll want to arrive without any makeup, deodorant, perfume, or lotion applied to any area of the face or body. These can all interfere with adherence to the solution to your skin. We need a blank canvas!
Note that we understand some of you are coming straight from work and need to wear some makeup and deodorant. If so, just request some wipes at your appointment and we can provide!
We will start with a pre-session consultation, we’ll discuss your tanning goals and choose a custom mix and method that works best for you. Then, step inside our spray tan room for a spacious, private experience to receive a service catered to you! In about 10 minutes, you’ll have a tan you’ll love time and time again!
Show up as you are! You don’t have to apologize for cellulite, curves, stretch marks, small or big boobs, being thin or thick, your during/post pregnancy body, or your fit body. Your body holds many qualities. Qualities far beyond size and shape.
Be sure to wear loose, dark clothes to put on after your appointment, with loose sandals or slippers for shoes (the tan will not stain your clothes). Wearing leggings, jeans, bras, or tennis shoes directly after your spray will cause the tan to develop unevenly. Most of our clients prefer to spray completely naked--however if you prefer to spray in underwear, be sure to bring that as well. We do provide disposable thongs upon request!
POST TAN CARE

Right after your spray, you may notice that your color looks a bit intense, don’t worry! This is completely normal. The bronzer you see now will wash off during your first rinse, revealing a smooth, even, and natural-looking tan underneath.
Try not to touch other areas of your body with your hands, as this is a common first-time mistake that can lead to unwanted color transfer. When changing pants or shorts, keep your hands on the outside of the garment to avoid dragging your thumbs along your legs.
Remain in loose, dark clothing until your recommended rinse time. Avoid putting your bra back on, keep jewelry off, and stay completely dry - no sweating.

At your prescribed rinse time, hop into the shower. You’ll notice color running off in the water - this is completely normal. Use your hands to help guide the bronzer off, and continue rinsing until the water runs completely clear. For this first rinse, use water only—no soap, no body wash, and no shaving.
Rinsing earlier or later than your recommended time, especially with rapid formulas, can cause your final color to develop lighter or darker than intended.
After Your Rinse
For Rapid Formulas:
Your tan will look much lighter immediately after rinsing. This is simply because the bronzer has washed off, and your Spray Tan is still developing underneath. Over the next 24 hours, your tan will gradually deepen to your fully developed shade.Standard Formulas:
You’ll see color immediately after your first rinse, but remember your spray tan will continue to develop and deepen over the next 24 hours.
Once your tan is fully developed, you can begin moisturizing - twice daily is ideal to maintain hydration and extend the life of your tan.

Always wear long sleeves to bed the first night after your spray tan, even if you’ve rinsed beforehand. Skin-to-skin contact during sleep can cause uneven marks, particularly on the hands and palms. After the first night, you’re free to sleep without restrictions.
EXTEND YOUR GLOW

You can resume normal clothing, jewelry, and workouts the day after your appointment.
Shaving and using body wash is allowed after the first rinse. However, avoid drugstore body washes and lotions, as these can cause your tan to fade faster and appear streaky or blotchy. Avoid using a razor with a white moisture strip. Avoid using a shaving cream/lotion. Replace it with your body wash.
After showering, always pat dry and keep showers short and warm - not hot.

Apply a spray tan safe moisturizer, Drench, from head to toe at least once every day. This is critical for maintaining your color and ensuring it fades evenly. Skipping moisturizer or using non-safe products can cause your tan to crackle, fade quickly, and develop uneven patches.
Avoid the Following for the Life of Your Tan:
Loofahs and washcloths - shower with hands only
Shaving creams/lotions and razor with moisture strip(use spray-tan-safe body wash and a simple razor instead)
Long, hot showers/baths
Aerosol sunscreens (use lotion-based sunscreen only that is spray tan safe)
Exfoliants—including scrubs and acids, especially retinol
Perfumes applied directly to skin (spray over clothing instead)
Drugstore body washes and moisturizers
Dove, Olay, Irish Spring, Dial, Bath & Body Works, Victoria Secret, Method. These following products contain ingredients that are not spray tan safe.
Avoid these ingredients when purchasing a product to use after your spray tan: parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, alcohols, heavy fragrance, petroleum, paraffins, ceresine.
AHA Products (Alpha Hydroxy ACids: Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Citric, and Tartic Acids)
BHA Products (Beta Hydroxy Acids: Salicylic Acid)

When all prep and aftercare instructions are followed using spray-tan-safe products, your tan can last approximately 10–14 days. Keep in mind:
Your spray tan will last if you follow the prep and aftercare instructions properly.
Your spray tan will look its best on days 2-4 and will begin to lighten up by the second week.
The face and neck fade faster than the rest of the body due to faster skin cell turnover and makeup removal. Skincare routines can also affect fading.
We offer a face tanning mist to restore color. Simply spray at night once your face fades to match the rest of your body. Ask about it at your next appointment!

Our solutions are highly swim resistant, making them ideal for vacations. However, swimming in chlorine/hot tubs can cause your tan to fade faster. On tropical vacations, expect your color to last about 7–10 days.
To protect your tan, apply a spray-tan-safe moisturizer before and after swimming. This creates a protective barrier, helping to reduce the impact of chlorine on your color.
